This will probably be a fairly short post this week. Between prepping for the holiday dinner and recovering from same, I haven’t accomplished much this week (other than cleaning the whole house, making an amazing dinner, etc.). Add to that the fact that the weather keeps changing and that my sinuses are filled with tree jizz (well what do you think pollen is?), and you have a very unmotivated individual. More on that below.
The Mrs decided that she didn’t want to have the traditional ham dinner so I made a roast. Unfortunately I appear to have twisted my shoulder from patting myself on the back about how well it came out.
With any luck my nasal passages will open up before this evening. We will be recording tonight for the Tremors Retrospective which will be up tomorrow.
Listening To: Random stations through my phone. We had one of those rare weekends when The Mrs and I were both home for both days. Naturally, she was in the TV room (cleaning, then quilting and putting together new newest puzzle). I split my time between soft classical and Celtic. This surprised The Mrs when she pulled the headphones off to sample what I had on.
Currently Reading: Still working on Embers of the Hands. This book is not only enlightening, it is surprisingly amusing.
Current Obsession: Trying to breathe.

We think that everything is all set for the audiobook release of The Pleasure in Pain. Everything is in the final review. Keep your fingers crossed.
We have finished going through the proof copy of Dark Workings of Wild Women. After we finish this post we will enter all of the changes into the MS.
Here is a sneak peek of the cover:

We are only a few weeks away from Halfway to Halloween. If you are in the SE MI area, make sure to put this on your calendar (10 May)
This Week’s Rambling: Why Autumn is Better (It’s Not Just Halloween)
or Spring Can Suck It.
I’ve discussed why autumn is my favorite time of year numerous times and it’s not just because of Halloween (although that is part of it). This time around I’m going to talk about why I am not one of those people who likes Spring and Fall equally.
And, apologies to those who prefer the former, this is really just an opportunity for me to shit on Spring. You’ve been warned.
I’ve heard a lot of people say that their favorite is season is Spring and Fall. First off, way to not actually choose. It seems like most of them prefer the two because they are neither too hot like Summer nor too cold like Winter. Again, way to play the middle, Goldilocks. Others like them both because they represent a transitional period. One thing is ending while another begins.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That might be the case where you are, but I live in Michigan. Here you have a couple of “false Springs” where it gets warm enough to melt everything into a beautiful grey slush only to have it freeze over again. Then we get maybe 21 days of nice weather before it turns into the humid Hellscape that is Summer. Bleah.
I will grant you that it is wonderful seeing the flowers bloom and things begin to bud.
However, as I have noted above, I’m allergic to all of these budding things. It would be wonderful to be able to enjoy the weather outside without feeling like my head was going to explode. And then there’s all that grass that I’m going to have to start mowing. And…and…
OK, look. I’m having a bad sinus day and I have a headache. I’m a miserable bastard, but I don’t actually hate Spring. I thought it might be a little cathartic to rant about allergies and stupid shit rather so I wasn’t worrying about how everything else is falling apart. It worked, for a little while.
Autumn is way better tho.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
